Awesome Grill

I love this grill, though there is a learning curve when it comes to not over-cooking or burning your food. The grill is practically self-cleaning: if you leave it on "high" for ~5min after removing your food, residue on the cooking grate or drippings will be incinerated. The quality of the materials used to make this grill also seem top-notch.

Outstanding!

We've had the Solair for a year now, figured that was long enough to provide an accurate assessment. My wife loves to sear vegetables and fruit. Zucchini, summer squash, corn on the cob, artichokes cut in half, jalapeño's cut lengthwise and stuffed with a cheese mixture recipe, pineapple slices, we also do ahi tuna. Although it works well on other meats, we generally do other meats on a large ceramic lump charcoal grill as we like the distinctive fire flavor. The Solair is faster however as you're ready to cook 4-5 min. after lighting, charcoal is 30 min. minimum from light off.

A great replacement for charcoal

I love my big Weber Summit grill for its rotisserie and slow cooking, but have been dissatisfied with cooking steaks, etc. even with the sear burner on high when compared to a charcoal grill. However, not wanting to deal with the mess of charcoal led me to purchase the Solaire Everywhere. Absolutely amazing--I will use the Weber only for special cooking after using this. Ready in 3 minutes, uses very little fuel, cooks fast, and cleans up in 5 min. And now all my friends want me to bring this with me to their house!

Exception quality

I use the Solaire grill primarily for tailgating and occassionally on our deck when more grill area is needed beyond the capability of our large gas grill. The Solaire unit is wonderfully designed and constructed. It takes only a few minutes to set up and start grilling. The stainless steel from which the majority of its parts are made makes it quick and simple to clean. In my opinion it's a winner!

Built for the long haul

A little heavy for a portable, but it is Stainless. Best use for me is to sear steak, chicken, etc and finish in regular BBQ

Best of the Best

This is the best grill I ever bought [had about 12 at my age of 63]. A finely made quality product not from China? SIMPLY AMAZING! I got it for portability with our motorhome but now use it almost exclusively at home as well. We do have a nearly new, large 5 burner stainless grill that sits idle at home now unless we have a large party. For my wife and I the infrared portable is just great. It cooks so fast you won't believe it -- in fact, if there is any trouble at all its almost too fast. I am actually using our microwave to get a jump start on cooking thick steaks inside a few minutes and then finishing them on the infrared grill outside. Gas economy is not to be ignored either -- a couple minutes and you are done! Listen, I don't usually write reviews but this grill deserves my attention and loyalty to the manufacturer. Get one, you won't regret it. Thanks for listening, Guy

Question:
Can the Solaire Anywhere be used with pots and pans? For example, boiling water. Also: I need to store the grill outside. The area is covered but not waterproof. Do I need to order the Marine version or is the Anywhere version okay? Finally, Is the carrying bag waterproof?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
The cover is well constructed but not waterproof. Put in a trash bag first. YES! You can easily boil water or use pots/pans. Awesome grill

Asked by ThomasAnswered by tommy

Answer:
Hi Thomas. The Solaire Anywhere works great with pots and pans and can certainly handle boiling water! You'll just want to make sure any cookware you use can fit on the cooking surface. As far as choosing between the standard and marine grade Anywhere versions, that really depends on what kind of environments you plan on using it in. If you'll be using/storing it in a very humid or salt air environment, the marine grade model would be a better choice. The carrying bag is made with water-resistant vinyl fabric but it's not fully waterproof, due to the zippers.

Question:
I'm interested in the Solarie Anywhere. What is the dimension from the cooking surface to the lid when closed?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi, thanks for asking! This grill is not designed to cook with the lid closed, the hoods are single-skin and will change color from the high heat if closed during use. This is also not covered by the warranty. The good news is that you don't need to close the hood because of the infrared burner - you don't need to trap the heat. Question:
Does this have a flat lit or a high lid? One of the pictures has two different versions side by side but I don't know which is which.
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Great question! The Solaire Anywhere has the taller lid. The grill with the flat lid is the Solaire Everywhere. They are similar grills, but the Anywhere comes with a carrying bag and is taller than the Everywhere.

Question:
If for some reason the electronic starter fails can you light the barbecue with a conventional match and Flame
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Absolutely! You'll just need to hold in the ignition button to allow for gas to move through the valve.

Free Shipping on orders over $49

When will my item arrive?

Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we’ve all come to expect for small parcels, so it’s important that you’re prepared and understand what’s required of you well before delivery day.

  • Most freight products ship on a pallet
  • Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
  • We’ll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.

For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can’t be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we’ve only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.

For carriers that deliver without an appointment:

Carriers that deliver without an appointment don’t require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren’t required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you’re home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you’re out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
