Waste of Money

We purchased two of these and had them professionally installed. Even while standing directly underneath, they generate almost no noticeable heat. Maybe we got a bad batch, but the first set we ordered arrived with broken heating elements in BOTH heaters. The replacements may not be broken, but they certainly aren't worth the money. They have added no utility to our space. Complete disappointment.

The Skinny:

  • Wall or ceiling mount
  • Simple brackets allow for easy adjusting
  • Infrared heating technology
  • Single or dual element
  • Weather resistant stainless steel construction

Things We Love:

Infrared Technology

Bromic Tungsten Smart-Heat series electric infrared patio heaters use infrared light to efficiently heat outdoor spaces. It works just as the sun warms our planet — infrared waves move through the air until they contact people or objects, which they then heat no matter the outdoor conditions. Contrast this method with that of a traditional heater that simply heats nearby air.

Thanks to this technology, Bromic Smart-Heat electric models convert almost all of their energy toward heating. Wind and other weather conditions will only slightly affect infrared heat, whereas a gust of wind can easily blow away hot air created by a traditional heater. As a result, the power and consistency of Bromic infrared heaters can help you turn your patio into a comfortable year-round outdoor space.

Attractive Amber Glow

Fortunately, you don’t have to trade efficiency for beauty when it comes to the Bromic Tungsten electric series. The thick quartz elements used to produce heat are surrounded by frosted tungsten tube lamps that create a warm, orange-looking glow. This amber light is much easier on the eyes than the typical glare given off by other brands and can even add to the ambiance of your outdoor space.

Coupled with the sleek design options Bromic offers in black and white finishes, the soft orange glow helps make these models some of the most attractive patio heaters on the market. But if you’d prefer your heater to fade into the background of your outdoor area, the gentle light won’t intrude on whatever event you’re hosting.

Custom Directional Heating

In addition to their top-of-the-line efficiency and pleasant glow, Bromic provides precise directional heating to maximize the effectiveness of its patio heaters. The mounting brackets included with each Bromic Tungsten electric series unit are adjustable, allowing you to arrange directional spot heating and alter heat coverage to a slimmer or wider area depending on your needs.

Bromic also offers a wide variety of accessories, including bi-directional mounting poles that range between 9 and 41 inches. With these, you can perfectly position your heater on walls or ceilings for the best heating setup. If your outdoor space calls for a recessed heater, you can use handy ceiling mounting kits for both the 2000 and 4000-watt models as well as the 3000 and 6000-watt units. Each of these heaters also comes with a spectral reflector that evenly distributes heat across the targeted area, which gives you even more options in customizing your outdoor space.

Things To Consider:

Keep in mind, these heaters use 208V, 240V or 277V AC current and must be hard-wired by a licensed electrician. Question:
I currently have to heating units on my outdoor patio. They are both hooked up to 1 20 amp circuit. What is the max watts per unit that I can purchase without adding an additional 20 amp circuit?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Jeff. We would suggest you reach out to a local, licensed electrician who can determine your available amperage.

Question:
Do the heaters need to be protected from rain? I will mount them on a back exterior wall but will install an awning to protect them if needed.
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Mark. The Bromic Tungsten electric heaters are rated IPX4, meaning they will fine if rained upon, but, they cannot be used during rain

Question:
We have a 14 x 14 deck with a roof. Would you recommend 2 4000W or would 1 6000W heater? Thanks.
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
I have two 6000W in about the same size space and it's great. Had the 4000W but returned them because felt like the heat wasn't reaching all the way to the couch. 6000W is perfect and you can turn on just one element if you don't want it as hot. Worst case I would get two 4000W instead of just one 6000W Note the 6000W will need larger gauge wire though (and larger breaker) if you want it wired to code.

Answer:
I purchased the 2 4000w for my outdoor Kitchen that is pretty protected by the wind , they work for 2 areas both about 13x13, but little to no wind and it keeps it warm & takes the chill out of the PNW spring/summer. The only con was the arm on the heater is not very adjustable and is limited the direction it points, it was very easy to modify the adjustments. Answer:
I'd say if your ceiling is high like mine (10ft) and you get a decent amount of wind breeze I'd go with two of you have the room. I have a gas fire pit table below it so the two work good bit if it's breezy it's not as effective.

This question was asked on a different product configuration.

Answer:
Our covered deck area is little large and we went with 2 4000Ws and placed them on the same beam to heat a little over half of our area.  We didn't place any heaters on the other side because we have a hot tub in that section.  We haven't turned them on yet because we are finishing up the project this week, but they look great. Hope that helps. I would recommend looking at the heating reach of both units to determine what works best.  See the link below. www.bromic.com/us/wp-content/uploads/sites/22/2019/11/Printable-Bromic-Tungsten-Electric-US.pdf

Question:
Hi, on a large porch 10' deep x 20 ' width would you recommend perimeter placement of units or centered placement?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Fina! I would suggest perimeter placements of about 3 units, each heating about 65 square inches. The number of units could change depending on your normal ambient temperature. Also, your ceiling height and whether the ceiling has full coverage makes a difference. The minimum clearance of 8 feet to the bottom of the unit will provide more heat than placing it at higher at 10 feet. Please refer to the manual for more details on safety clearances.

Question:
with this heater, how can you adjust the position? does it come mountable or do we need to purchase an extension mount?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Channing. This model includes short mounting brackets for ceiling and wall installation, once mounted you can adjust the angle of the heater. Extended-length ceiling mounting poles are available as well.

Free Shipping on orders over $49

When will my item arrive?

Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we’ve all come to expect for small parcels, so it’s important that you’re prepared and understand what’s required of you well before delivery day.

  • Most freight products ship on a pallet
  • Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
  • We’ll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.

For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can’t be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we’ve only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.

For carriers that deliver without an appointment:

Carriers that deliver without an appointment don’t require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren’t required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you’re home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you’re out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
