The grill looks good and works well, however

The power to the rotisserie no longer works after aprox 2 years, and the igniters have been intermittent since aprox 6 months, this grill is covered and on a screen porch, the igniters should work better then that. I have a ten year old Weber and the igniters still work perfect!

Do not listen to the experts Lynx has serious issues

After spending tens of thousands of dollars on a Lynx outdoor kitchen, I feel I have to warn people who keep getting duped by the experts into buying these products. There is something wrong with their burner technology that causes the burners to light but not stay lit. Two months after installation and 6, SIX! Service visits my Pizza oven seems to be staying lit (for now) but my grill still has 1 of the three burners that won't stay lit. They have replaced the burner, fiddled with switches, waited 3 weeks for more parts, and it still isn't working. I have this strange feeling that this grill will never work properly and then will be out of warranty. I haven't tried any of the other high end brands but I definitely would not spend the money on Lynx if I could have a do over.

Worst warranty in the industry!!

If I had to do it all over again I would never buy a Lynx product. The factory will not answer the phone and when they do they don't want to help with anything. The igniters are iffy ... sometimes they work and then most of the time they don't. rotisserie has been replaced 3 times.. not under warranty. springs break on the top .. they will not do it under warranty also. Worst of all NO FACTORY HELP!! WORST IN THE INDUSTRY. Spent over 5K and this grill sucks.

Buyer Beware

We ordered this grill in late 2021 and it arrived and was installed around summer of 2022. It looks good and, when working, cooks well. The problem is that it arrived with something defective about the igniter button. We contacted customer service and they sent a local repairman to fix it. Unfortunately, we use it for awhile, the igniter button stops working, call customer service, and repeat. The igniter is AGAIN not working and now it's out of warranty, so customer service will not fix it. There is clearly something defective about this grill and our concerns have not been met. We bought this grill because the company/brand is supposed to be reliable, but that is apparently no longer the case. It's insane to pay this much for a grill and they not be able to get the igniter button to work. I do not recommend this grill or brand.

Poor quality since being acquired by Viking

This is our second Lynx grill, and the first one purchased approximately 5 years ago was wonderful... which is what convinced me to spend this much on a second one. The second one was purchased after Lynx's acquisition by Viking and shows a significant decline in quality. The new ceramic burners are a down grade from the previous brass versions, and will wear our over time. No better than "cheap grill" stainless steel burners in my opinion. The ignition system does wear out as well. Not to mention, upon receiving the grill, there was damage that needed to be repaired (2 months to fix...). We are 2 years in to the ownership of our second Lynx, and I would explicitly not recommend the purchase of one.

4 repairs in first year of ownership.

4 different repairs in first year of ownership. Performance of grill (when it's not broken) is excellent. But it is usually in need of repairs.

The Skinny:

  • Luxurious grill with drop-dead good looks
  • Leader in grilling innovation
  • One of the best engineered grills
  • Stylish LED control knob lighting
  • Amazing warranty

Things We Love:

Lynx Grills are the sleekest and most innovative brand of grills I've seen. They are made in the USA and are amazingly engineered to be durable with inventive features not found on other grills. Lynx definitely crossed all the t's and dotted all the i's with their Professional series.

The Lynx Professional's exterior is made with a smoothly polished 304 grade stainless steel that seems to keep a like-new appearance longer than other premium grills. The Lynx also comes with stylish LED lit control knobs that look incredible at night and will really turn some heads at your next barbecue. Also, Lynx offers a ton of Lynx outdoor kitchen components that match the grill's quality and good looks.

Another nice feature on the Lynx is the fluid-rotating handle and spring assist hood that makes opening and closing the grill a piece of cake. This is a feature you won't appreciate until trying it for the first time, as larger grill hoods tend to be pretty heavy to open.

Under the hood, Lynx offers multiple configurations of the most innovative burners on the market, with unique ceramic burners and Trident infrared searing burners. Whether you want all infrared burners, all traditional burners, or one infrared with two traditional burners, Lynx will configure it for you and the price stays the same.

The innovative ceramic burners will never rust or corrode, while also providing superior heat retention when compared to typical stainless steel burners. Also, the ceramic burners radiate heat better towards the cooking surface than traditional stainless steel burners. Sitting above the ceramic burners, lies the ceramic briquette flame taming system. The ceramic briquettes sit atop a stainless steel tray, absorbing heat from the burners and spreading it across the grilling surface. Between the ceramic burners and ceramic flame taming system, Lynx grills definitely offer a super even cooking surface from front-to-back and side-to-side.

When it comes to infrared, many brands claim theirs are variable. However, I have not found an infrared burner nearly as variable in temperature as the Lynx Trident burner. Because of the infrared burners unique trident design, it allows you to lower the temperature, giving you truly versatile infrared cooking options, from scorching hot to simmering.

Some Lynx grill models offer FlameTrak, a groundbreaking safety technology developed by Lynx to address and eliminate gas grill accidents. FlameTrak monitors the flame on your Lynx grill using sensors. If a flame fails to ignite or blows out, the sensor will try to relight the burner for 13 seconds. If the flame does not relight after 13 seconds the gas supply is shut off, and a red light will turn on indicating an error with the flame.

Lynx's rear ceramic infrared rotisserie burner stretches wider across the grilling surface than other grills. By having a wider infrared burner, it allows you to cook longer pieces of meat (like pork loin) on the rotisserie, giving you a consistent direct heat from one end of the meat to the other.

Lynx offers a first class standard warranty on their professional grills. The stainless steel body, ceramic burners, rotisserie infrared burner and Trident infrared burners are warranted for life, and most other grill parts are warranted for five years.

Things to Consider:

While the one-of-a-kind ceramic main burners will last longer and both retain and radiate heat better than their steel counterparts, they are far more delicate and should be handled very carefully when changing out burners or moving the flame tamers.

Keep in mind that our video for the Lynx Professional features the all infrared model.

You'll Like This Grill If:

You appreciate the top of the line in luxury, performance, innovation, and drop-dead good looks.

Question:
I just want to know whether to get all infrared burners or half infrared and half ceramic. I dont know the difference between them that well. What do you recommend for best all around and reliable use?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Bruce. The best for all-around use would be the Lynx 36-inch grill with one infrared Trident burner and two conventional burners. Although it is adjustable, the infrared Trident burner does not reach the same lower temperatures of the conventional burners.

What is the metal pan that comes in the box inside the grill when I opened everything to install it? It has four holes in each corner of the lip. Is it a drip pan or do I cook in it? It looks like a broiler pan.

Hi Bruce, it sounds like this is the drip tray.

Question:
Why did Lynx change the regular burners from the bronze to ceramic?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hey there! Ceramic burners are superior to standard burners for multiple reasons. Ceramic burners provide excellent heat retention and will never rust or corrode. In addition, these burners are better than typical burners at radiating heat toward the cooking surface. Lynx ceramic burners are also covered by a lifetime warranty and are replaced for free if they ever break. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

When will my item arrive?

Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we’ve all come to expect for small parcels, so it’s important that you’re prepared and understand what’s required of you well before delivery day.

  • Most freight products ship on a pallet
  • Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
  • We’ll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.

For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can’t be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we’ve only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.

For carriers that deliver without an appointment:

Carriers that deliver without an appointment don’t require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren’t required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you’re home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you’re out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
