Bayron Florida | ★★★★★ ★★★★★ 5.0 The fast and the Grillious!I love it, the only improvement I can blatantly see a need for is a way to kill the fire faster, a cool down button in the app, and if the fan could some how start to remove air and preserve lump. I'm not sure just an idea this is the only part that leaves me feeling without control of the grill | Was This Helpful? |
Kelley B Undisclosed | ★★★★★ ★★★★★ 5.0 Game changerI've had mine for about four months. The only 'con' is it pulls current so you can't run a long extension cord. The WiFi can be flaky but rarely and even when it is, just go to the grill to check/change. The pros?? This thing is amazing. Follow the instructions and take the guesswork out of getting to/holding a temperature. I realize some may feel this is somehow cheating but the freedom this gives me to do other things and be confident in the grill is priceless. Cooked a 6 lb prime rib for Easter. 15 min at 500 degrees. Then reset the temp to 325 degrees. Never opened the lid. When the temp probe in the roast got to 125 degrees it was done. And it was perfect. Additionally it is very easy on charcoal and I have been using it a lot. From larger groups to grilling salmon for myself. The ease of use is wonderful. | Was This Helpful? |
SamIAm Texas | ★★★★★ ★★★★★ 5.0 Works as advertised!I have a friend of mine, who uses his pretty often, it's pretty awesome. All the great value of using a KJ and the convenience of a pellet grill. | Was This Helpful? |
BarberQ Marietta GA | ★★★★★ ★★★★★ 5.0 Easy Streetif you want the ease of pain with the flavor of charcoal, this is a great option. I always tell people if they are hesitant switching from gas to charcoal something like this is the way to go | Was This Helpful? |
JoeyC Buda Texas | ★★★★★ ★★★★★ 5.0 Best of both worldsI love my konnected Joe! I get the ease of a pellet grill but with real wood coal. I can choose to let the Joe Haney everything or I can make the temps myself. Holds temp for hours and uses a minimum amount of coal. Best grill I've ever owned. | Was This Helpful? |
Craig1391sf Austin,Tx | ★★★★★ ★★★★★ 5.0 Konnected JoeI researched this product for almost a year before I made the purchase. I'm glad I pulled the trigger. There is a learning curve as it's not like any other grill you've used before. But once you learn a few tricks you can be a master chef. I love my Konnected Joe. I've made the best chicken quarters in my life on this beast. My biggest recommendation is to buy good lump charcoal that comes in large chunks. | Was This Helpful? |
Jackie. M Huntington Beach CA | ★★★★★ ★★★★★ 5.0 Endless possibilities, our favorite way to cook!We purchased the Konnected Joe last year and absolutely love it! From smoking meats and salmon to doing a paella and pizza dishes, our only regret is not buying this grill sooner! I’ve been testing out the new Kamado Joe Konnected Joe, a fully automatic charcoal grill that lets you set and monitor temps from your phone like a pellet grill. As an award-winning competitive pitmaster, my goal is to help anyone who’s interested learn how to grill and that’s what I love about the Konnected Joe — it’s incredibly advanced, but still easy to use! This grill revolutionizes Kamado cooking like I’ve never seen before. Kamado grills have been around for thousands of years, but adding the digital capabilities brings it to a whole new level. It’s truly one of a kind, combining the tried-and-true effectiveness of Kamado cooking with the digital conveniences modern-day grillers expect and enjoy.
Quality
If superior heat retention is what you’re after, look no further.
For starters, the Konnected Joe keeps heat inside the grill where you need it most. The thick ceramic walls provide strong insulation so almost all the heat is captured and used to cook your food before exiting the grill. This also makes the grill incredibly fuel efficient.
It has 250 square inches of cooking space and a two-tier divide-and-conquer cooking system. This allows you to cook various foods at different temperatures. And with the addition of the heat deflectors, you can cook using direct and indirect heat.
Performance
You don’t have to be a professional pitmaster to use this grill, but when you pull your food off, everyone will think you are.
One of the best things about the Konnected Joe is its flexibility — you can use the automatic functions, or you can forgo the technology altogether and use it manually.
To use the automatic mode, simply add your coal, turn the power on, close the bottom vent, and push the automatic fire starter button.
-
To set your temperature, push the thermometer button, spin the dial to your desired temperature, and push the thermometer button again to lock in your temp.
The heating element on the bottom will light your coals in about 15 minutes. Then, the grill will regulate itself to peak at your desired temperature. I found it takes about 30 minutes total to reach 250F degrees.
Throughout the cook, the grill will continue to make internal adjustments with the Kontrol Fan to keep your heat steady, so you never have to worry about opening and closing vents.
If hands-on grilling is more your style, don’t worry! You still have the freedom to cook on the Konnected Joe without power. Just add your coals, light them with your favorite fire starter, and control your heat with the top and bottom vents just like you would with any other Kamado grill.
Features
Kamado Joe combines traditional kamado style grilling with digital technology for a revolutionary cooking experience.
Now let’s walk through the basic features. The Konnected Joe comes with three ports for temperature probes located next to the Kontrol board. The grill comes with one meat probe, but you can purchase more. Simply insert the probe into the port, then run it up and under the grill lid and insert it into the meat. You’ll be able to see when your meat is ready without opening the grill. The Kontrol board’s timer can also count down or up for added convenience.
-
Two lift handles sit beneath the removable side shelves, which make placing the grill on the included cart a breeze. The cart has great heavy-duty wheels, including two that lock. There is also a shelf on the bottom that is large enough hold all of your favorite grilling accessories.
The part that took me the longest to figure out was how to add the legs to the cart. There is a section in the middle of each leg that slides into the frame. Then, that gets screwed together. From there, you screw on the bottom shelf and add the wheels. If you really want to kick it into high gear, the Konnected Joe supports popular Kamado Joe accessories such as the JoeTisserie Rotisserie System and DoJoe Pizza Oven Attachment.
But the Konnected Joe doesn’t stop there. Not only does the digital Kontrol board control your settings, but you can also adjust and monitor your grill’s temperature from the Kamado Joe app. It connects to the grill via your home wi-fi and Bluetooth. With the app, you can adjust the grill temperature, monitor internal meat temperatures, track the full cook and set the timer. The app even includes a collection of recipes. Again, I’m Christie Vanover from Girls Can Grill. I hope this review of the Kamado Joe Konnected Joe has been helpful.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we’ve all come to expect for small parcels, so it’s important that you’re prepared and understand what’s required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We’ll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can’t be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we’ve only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don’t require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren’t required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you’re home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you’re out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
