Cutlass II pro 42...thumbs up

After shopping and going around to different dealers, I decided on the RCS pro 42. You can't beat it for the money. During my search, I've seen higher priced grills built with less quality. This thing is built like a tank. Welded seems, super thick flame savers and dividers. The lights are perfectly situated in the rear to see the food without compromise at nite. The LEDs are a nice touch of elegance. I upgraded one burner to an infrared and its fantastic, especially because it has zone dividers. Cooked very even. Very simple and easy to use. Bottom line, I don't regret my decision at all.

Love my RCS Cutlass Pro 42" Gas Grill

I am the proud owner of the RCS Cutlass Pro 42" Grill for the past three yrs and still enjoying this grill. It is a well-built. quality grill that suits my needs very well. Initially, when I was looking to make this purchase, I was concerned about the cost; but now that I have owned it for a few years, I quickly realize that it was well worth the investment. I didn't want to be one of those consumers that had to be replacing their gills periodically; having to sacrifice quality and I believe that I have achieved this with this purchase. Thanks BBQguys for your advice on such a great grill.

good not great

My DCS grille had a lot of parts that needed to be replaced and I didn't use a grill that big (52")very often so I gave it away and opted for the new 42" RCS Cutlass when I rebuilt my patio. It's built pretty well, I don't like the heat dividers and I think I will pull them out. I have three main issues with the unit. #1- it does not get very hot and it is very difficult to get a good sear on anything especially when the hood is open. I also opted for the optional infrared burner. It will only get very hot if I shut off all the other burners. It seems as though the gas supply is really restricted. #2- The unit is much more shallow than the DSC and the warming rack is too low and it's hard to reach stuff at the back of the grille with the warming rack in place without burning your hand on the warming rack. #3-- The rotisserie burner in also mounted to low....when you go to flip burgers or steaks they tend to slide on the round cooking grates and they get wedged under the gap between the burner housing and the grates. GOOD STUFF- Lights easily- LED lights on the control and under the hood- Nice looking- Decently made, all 304 SS (I checked with a magnet) even on the cart. I did have to add two mounting screws to hold the unit in the cart however. I'm OK with the purchase but not thrilled as I hoped I would be...the other good news is I also purchased a large Kamado Joe at the same time and I LOVE it and have been cooking much more with charcoal when I have the time. I find I use the RCS when I'm in more of a hurry. I think there may be better units out there for the price.

Things We Love:

When looking at the design of the RCS Cutlass Pro, I like how similar it is to most high-end grills. It’s built with 304 grade stainless steel and has “cool blue” LED control knob lighting with interior halogen lights. If you’re looking to add that “wow” factor in your grill, one with lighting is a good way to go. Just like other premium gas grills, the hood is double-lined to protect against discoloration. I also like the extremely reliable “sure-strike” electronic ignition system.

The burners are cast stainless steel, which are well known for durability, low maintenance and high heat characteristics. The stainless steel flame tamers do a good job reducing flare-ups and they also help distribute heat across the grill. Stainless steel flame tamers have some advantages over ceramic briquettes, they're easier to keep clean and they have a faster response when you want to adjust the temperature. Another feature that caught our eye is the grilling zone separators, which are stainless steel partitions that allow you to divide the grill into temperature zones.

RCS also offers a full line of outdoor kitchen equipment to round out your RCS outdoor kitchen.

RCS Cutlass Pro grills are backed by a lifetime warranty on stainless steel components, and a 15 year warranty on control valves (other components are covered for one year). It's clear that RCS doesn’t want customers to worry about the durability and performance of their grills.

Things to Consider:

RCS Cutlass Pro Grills typically have the lowest BTU, and thus the lowest max heat output when comparing to similar grill brands in its class.

You'll like this grill if:

You want an all 304 stainless steel gas grill with cool blue knob lights for a good value.

When will my item arrive?

Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. If you’re home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you’re out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
