Smoking Gator Fort Lauderdale, FL | ★★★★★ ★★★★★ 5.0 Great little smokerGreat little smoker, a little bit of a learning curve, but it makes great food easily. | Was This Helpful? |
Andres69 Lima, Peru | ★★★★★ ★★★★★ 5.0 14" is more that enough!I got my WSM to be my portable smoker since I own a large one, but since I first lit it, it has become my main smoker. I used to burn between 4-6 kgs of coal now I do 1 kg and it lasts for more than 8 hrs. I use it to grill as well as to smoke and despite it seems the cooking area is small, it holds easily 2 -3 pieces of meat to grill or 1 big chunk to smoke. | Was This Helpful? |
Marshall O West Chester, PA | ★★★★★ ★★★★★ 5.0 Love this smoker!Great smoker, easy to use, fairly easy to clean up. It helps I already have a Weber iGrill with 3 probes, so keep an eye on smoker temp and meat temp. | Was This Helpful? |
Nutting2It Undisclosed | ★★★★★ ★★★★★ 5.0 Impressive little smoker! This is a great little smoker, that has a little more capacity than I anticipated. Simple, quality, good craftsmanship; overall a great way to get started in the world of smoking meals. | Was This Helpful? |

chef with no name Las Vegas ,nv | ★★★★★ ★★★★★ 5.0 simple and easy smokingat this time i have used it 3 times since i bought it all satisfied with the performance of the weber smokey moutain 14 inches would definitely recommend it | Was This Helpful? |
Chef Ric Illinois | ★★★★★ ★★★★★ 5.0 This was a retirement...This was a retirement gift when I retired from Omaha Steaks. For the last 12 years it has been used 3_4 times a month. 3 ten pound. Turkeys no problem. Ribs I can't smoke enough. Awesome smoker. | Was This Helpful? |
JoeSomebody Wisconsin | ★★★★★ ★★★★★ 5.0 Phenomenal!I finally bought one of these after wanting one for years and I can say that I am incredibly impressed so far. - Clarification: I am NOT a paid reviewer - This smoker is built well and in USA. I'm not recommending this, but the cool thing about the 14" is that you can actually put the included cover on, stick it in the back seat of a vehicle (upright), put a seatbelt on it, and take it anywhere. I've hauled this in my compact car to about 5 state parks and kayak on a lake while I cook some ribs. Everything comes off the grill cooked to perfection and juicy and the smoker is efficient in my opinion. It's not big, so 18 briquettes can last you 5 hours no problem. In fact I'm still on the first large bag of charcoal yet. As others have mentioned, it takes one or two runs to get some tacky grease on the rims of the smoker so it seals really well, but after that the upper end of the temperature range is easy to hit and it will stay there even if the temperatures are below freezing. The dual-deck design is big enough for two sets of ribs (cut) and a loin plus some potatoes. A whole chicken or turkey would be no problem on this. I can't imagine needing more space unless I'm cooking for more than 6 people. If you need to add charcoal, you simply pop the access door open and add maybe...like...three or four briquettes if needed. Perhaps I am looking through rose-colored glasses, but this smoker really does seem like the pinnacle of convenience and design and I would recommend it as a first and last smoker grill to anyone looking for one. It's a shame I waited -this long- to finally buy one really. | Was This Helpful? |
Just a newbie Southern Illinois | ★★★★★ ★★★★★ 5.0 PerfectionMy first thing I smoked on the smoker was pork loin that is very lean an it turned out perfect | Was This Helpful? |
MoriaDenizen Undisclosed | ★★★★★ ★★★★★ 5.0 easy to useSo easy to use. I almost didn't get a smoker because of all the stories about how hard it is. This smoker is very easy to use and regulating the cooking temperature is as simple as can be. | Was This Helpful? |

Things We Love:
Weber revolutionized the grill game in 1952 with the invention of the charcoal kettle, and it hasn’t stopped innovating since. The company eventually tried its hand at slow-cooking a thing or two, resulting in a line of smokers as sleek as they are effective. After years of refining, Weber now offers its Smokey Mountain Cookers in three distinct sizes that fit the BBQ habits of just about anyone. Whether you like to make your backyard smoking central or grill on the go, there’s a Weber Smokey Mountain model for you.
Different Size Options to Fit Your Needs:
Heavy-duty smokers should take a hard look at the 22-inch Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker, which offers 726 square inches of cooking area for when you host the family BBQ. You can trust the 18-inch model to handle standard workloads, while the 14-inch Smokey Mountain Cooker is small enough to come along for the ride on your next outdoor adventure. But that’s where the differences between these charcoal smokers end.
Exceptional Features from Weber:
No matter the size, each Weber Smokey Mountain unit can cook a full-sized turkey and comes with great features designed to enhance your smoking experience. They have two separate, steel-plated cooking grates that allow you to satisfy your guests by smoking multiple foods at once, along with a Weber water smoker to add moisture. Premium-grade, steel-coated porcelain enamel is used to build both the inside and outside of these vertical smokers, which receive added durability thanks to their rust-resistant aluminum fuel doors. Even with this sturdy construction, you should still take advantage of the included cover to shield your smoker from the elements.
Oh, and did we mention that Weber Smokey Mountain Cookers are easy to use? The fuel door lets you add charcoal without interrupting the cooking process, and temperature adjustment is simple with Weber’s airflow vents. Straightforward smoking, just the way we like it!
Things to Consider:
Though these Weber smokers get the job done when it comes to cooking meats, they don’t include all the bells and whistles typically found in the pricier smokers on the market today. You can, however, use Smokey Mountain Cookers like a traditional grill. Feel free to call our BBQ experts at 1-877-743-2269 if you have any more questions about Weber smokers!

Back to TopQuestion: So does this use woodchips, charcoal, or both? I have no experience in smokers but this looks like a good one to buy. Hope my question makes sense. Was This Helpful? Question: How often does the fuel need tended to on a longer smoke like a pork shoulder. For example would I be able to start it in the evening and let it cook all night? I have no experience with smoking meat so any insight would be great Was This Helpful? Answer: Once your target temperature is achieved, it's recommended to check the water levels in this smoker every 3-4 hours, and refill the pan if you notice the temperature going up. When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we’ve all come to expect for small parcels, so it’s important that you’re prepared and understand what’s required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We’ll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can’t be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we’ve only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don’t require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren’t required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you’re home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you’re out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
