You paid WHAT for a gas grill?

Never, in my wildest dreams, would I have thought I would spend this kind of money for a gas grill. I took the plunge and, boy, am I glad I did. I got tired of buying grill after grill grill. A neighbor helped me assemble it in a little under two hours. Once completed, I thought I would break it in the right way; steak! The 1 1/4" thick ribeye cooked quicker than I have ever cooked one before. It turned out moist, tender, and delicious! After a full 30 days using it; I am glad I purchased this grill. I absolutely love it. Would I buy it again? I better not have to, but I would if needed.

As Advertised

No flare ups, easy to clean and most important: grills the right way with marks and searing. Need to be careful not to overcook, which I'll solve. This is the real deal.

I would buy this grill again but hope I won't need to.

This grill is very nice. I'm still learning how to cook on it but everything comes out good anyway. I like the lack of flareups for sure and it's almost self cleaning. I leave it on high after food comes off for 10 min or so and it burns off most everything. We've cooked burgers and dogs, steak and marinated chicken, baked potatos, squash and onions. Very good temp control and sectional enough to allow 400 on one side with 750 on the other. We've only had it for a month but so far so good.

GREAT grill! Blows away my Weber

This grill (the Cast 500 32" with built-in side burner) is built to a very high standard. It cooks food wonderfully without any flare ups. Since the burners are sealed, there is very little to clean and maintain, which is awesome! I also own a Weber Spirt II at my lake home and it uses the standard open flame design with flavor bars. That design requires lots of cleaning and maintenance. Also, the Weber's design and build quality are not nearly as high as the Saber's. My only criticisms are that the ignitor failed after 3 years (common for all grills), the Saber custom grill cover is made of cheap material and the seams failed after 6 months (so would not recommend), and the casters have rusted (but still work).

My new backyard toy

Other than a little difficult putting together.....its fantastic. Great quality! Gets up to 900 deg, cook evenly, no fire, and you can hardly tell its on. Be careful if its windy,, they flame has gone out on me....you'll know when it happens...the temp starts to drop and you can start smelling to propane

I looked at a lot of grills and choose this Saber Grill.

Just bought the grill. Everything seems to work well and it is a heavy and substantial grill. The first steaks we cooked on it were great. We used to have a Holland Grill and loved it because the it never flared up. But, the Company went out of business this past summer. Our new Saber grill also helps prevent flare ups and is very well constructed. We weren't looking for a $400 grill from Lowes or Home Depot and we weren't looking at some sort of $10,000 built-in outdoor kitchen sort of grill either. We wanted a well designed and well built grill and we got one with this product. It's also the perfect size for our deck and our cooking needs.

WIFE STARTED USING GRILLE RIGHT AWAY. SHE SAID IT'S THE BEST COOKING GRILLE WE EVER HAD. LOVE THE INFRARED COOKING FOR MORE EVEN HEAT. PURCHASING FROM BBQ GUYS WAS PLEASANT AND THEIR WEB SITE IS VERY IMFORMATIVE. BEST PRICE ALSO.

Disagree with fellow reviewers

Bought in 2013 and it has been awesome, yes ignitor went but that is normal for any grill and have had no issue with rust, we bought the cover and we live in Georgia with huge rain storms.

Best Grill I Have Ever Cooked On!

We have had this grill for almost 4 weeks now and it is hands down the best grill I have ever cooked on. We have done New York strip steaks, chicken breast, hamburgers, center cut pork loin chops, and an assortment of veggies. The three different cooking zones maintain their heat well. It is easy to cook meat on high and veggies on med-low with the zones maintaining their set temperatures. Meat comes out nice and juicy. I always used to brine my chicken and pork but have found that isn't necessary with the Saber. They all come out nice and juicy. I am also amazed that there are zero flame ups. This grill truly is a joy to cook on!

The Skinny:

  • Great value infrared grill
  • Evenly heated cooking surface
  • Virtually no flare-ups
  • Heat zone separators for multiple cooking zones
  • Easy to keep clean
  • Excellent customer service after the sale

Things We Love:

Saber offers great value infrared gas grills, along with excellent customer service after the sale. However, it's Saber's patented infrared cooking system that is the heart of the grill and what I love the most about them. The 304-grade stainless steel cooking grids feature air-channels on the bottom side, which trap hot air and create an excellent surface for nice sear marks, and offer quick heat recovery when flipping your food over. The cooking grids sit on top of 304-grade stainless steel emitter plates, which cover the entire surface of the grill, allowing heat to radiate evenly across the grilling surface. This also means that any food drippings that fall between the cooking grids, will be caught and vaporized back into your food in the form of delicious smoke. The emitter plates feature tiny air holes that line up directly under the cooking grids, which focuses the heat exactly where you want it, at the cooking surface. Because this design also restricts air flow, you'll find that grease drippings, which normally cause flare-ups, are transformed into rich smoke and makes this cooking system virtually free from any flare-ups.

Saber's infrared cooking system also reaches searing high temperatures, which is great for steakhouse quality sear marks on your food. While cooking on this grill, I was able to reach a maximum temperature of 850 degrees.

Under the emitter plates, you'll find 304-grade stainless steel tube burners, each producing 8,000 BTUs of cooking power. The burners are ignited by a battery powered spark ignition. Sitting between each burner are heat zone separators, which allow you to cook with different temperature zones at once. This is great for searing steaks in one zone, while slow roasting veggies in another zone.

Another innovative feature of Saber that I love is the warming rack. While many gas grills include a warming rack, Saber's warming rack allows you to adjust it to sit inches above the cooking surface as a roasting rack, giving you extra cooking versatility. However, if you're cooking ribs or another dish that stretches across the heat zones, be sure to remove the heat zone separators so your food cooks evenly.

Saber grills also include a grate scraper tool and full width slide-out drip pan, making clean up of any grease that may fall into the firebox a breeze. It is worth noting that after multiple cooks on this grill, I could not find a single drop of grease that fell below the cooking system and into the drip pan. This is definitely a bonus if you're looking for a low maintenance grill.

We carry 3 collections of Saber grills; the Elite Series, the Premium series and the Deluxe series. The Premium series is available in 3 and 4 burners, as well as built-in and freestanding configurations. The Deluxe series freestanding models include a side burner on the left shelf. This dual-tube side burner gives you cooking flexibility, and both burner tubes combine to produce 18,000 BTUs, which is one of the most powerful in the gas grill industry.

The Deluxe series offers the same cooking system as the Stainless Steel series, but features a stainless steel or porcelain coated hood with cast aluminum sides and powder coated cart, which gives the grill a different look and makes it more affordable. The Deluxe 500 and Deluxe Black 670 models include a 10,000 BTU standard side burner, while the other models do not.

You may also be interested in some of the popular accessories that Saber offers for these grills, which includes a griddle, easy-read meat thermometer, and dual-use grill brush.

Things To Consider:

Saber's firebox, heat zone separators, and drip pan are not stainless steel, but are made of porcelain coated steel, which can chip and rust over time and are only warranted for 5 years.

Also, like most infrared grills, don't expect to cook at low or warming temperatures. The lowest temperature we were able to achieve was 450 degrees.

Saber grills offer individual cooking zone thermometers that sit at grate level above each burner. However, like many gas grill thermometers, we found them to be inaccurate.

You'll Like This Grill If:

You want a great cooking infrared grill for the money, from a brand with excellent customer service after the sale.

Question:
what is the difference in a saber infrared and a tec infrared
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi thanks for asking. Infrared burners function essentially the same, but the differences often come down to what fuel it requires, what material is it made out of, and they aren't interchangeable brands so you can't put a Saber infrared burner in to a TEC grill and vice versa simply because they are made by different companies.

Free Shipping on orders over $49

Ship your entire order to your home for free, especially the big stuff! *Continental US only

When will my item arrive?

Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we’ve all come to expect for small parcels, so it’s important that you’re prepared and understand what’s required of you well before delivery day.

  • Most freight products ship on a pallet
  • Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
  • We’ll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.

For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can’t be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we’ve only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.

For carriers that deliver without an appointment:

Carriers that deliver without an appointment don’t require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren’t required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you’re home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you’re out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
