Worth every cent and you need the lights

Amazing! I have never splurged on a fancy bbq before but since I did an entire outdoor kitchen build out I didn't want to hold back. This thing is unbelievable! Easy to use and heats up fast. Having the interior lights is a game changer. Not sure how you cook without it. Maybe a headlamp lol but pull the trigger folks you wont regret it.

What a wonderful grill

Can't say enough about how much I love this grill. Flawless grill that's not too big as I only had a certain amount of space to work with. However, it gets the job done easily.

A solid mid-level option for a drop-in.

First, I've only used it a few times so far. I'll edit later if anything changes after more use. Pros: looks great, seems well built, grates are solid. Includes the rotisserie. the wavy grates really do help keep things from falling through! The interior lighting is ideal. Cons: Installation instructions aren't very helpful. The wiring is too short for installing into an existing island or structure. wildly uneven heating on the grates. doesn't get quite as hot as I'd like but I did get the charcoal try to mitigate that. I haven't tried it yet though. Installing this in an existing structure to replace a worn out Bull that was damaged by a tree. The installation instructions aren't going to help you too much but overall it was not a difficult installation. The wires for the lighting power supply and controller are VERY short so I'm going to either make an extension or see if Napoleon has a solution. Preheating on full for 15 minutes gets the internal temp up pretty high but the cooking area doesn't seem to get hot enough to sear anything. Not unusual for gas grills so I have the optional charcoal tray to try sometime. The rotisserie works really well. Made a whole chicken. It came out a little dry but that was because I didn't dry brine it long enough and I over cooked it. It should've been done perfectly in just over an hour. A couple other notes: the cover is a little thin but fits perfectly. there are even a couple tabs in the rear that the cover slips over to keep it in place. Probably not their purpose but work perfectly.

I like it very much but.

I have had mine for more than ten years. Easy to service and you can order replacement parts online if they wear. I take care of my drop in model and it looks new. It needs to reach a higher temperature to grille steaks. There should be one infrared burner to grille meat. Leave the other three burner as they are. I wish there was an option or aftermarket product to have the fourth burner be infrared.

Great Grill/Garbage Instruction Manual

The grill is awesome, and the only thing that keeps it from getting a 5 star review is a manual that is no help at all in learning how to assemble, or set up this grill. It's pictures only (maybe they have to charge another $50 for words???) and they can be described, at best, as vague. Down right useless is more like it. A good company should know better.

Several problems

Just installed grill. Interior lights do not work. Had an electrician check the bulbs and connections. He said the bulbs are good, maybe bad wire. Also the temperature gauge does not work. Customer support from Napoleon is nonexistent.

The Skinny:

  • Well-known brand name
  • Fully loaded with great features
  • Proudly made in North America
  • Great Warranty

Things We Love:

The Napoleon Prestige Pro is a feature packed gas grill with innovative accessories and integrated functionality. The Prestige Pro series comes with an infrared rear burner, rotisserie, and “sizzle zone” infrared burner. Freestanding Prestige Pro models also include an ice bucket with integrated cutting board. You can also add the optional charcoal tray for even more ways to cook. The grill comes with LED Spectrum Night Light control knobs with color customizable lights. The lights have a safety glow feature that make them glow red when a burner is in use. The Prestige Pro series also has interior grill lighting for night time grilling and lighting in the storage area under the grill. I also really like Napoleon’s doubled lined “lift-ease” lid, which opens easily and helps hold in heat for optimal heat retention. The lid is hinged near the middle and, when open, adds hardly any depth to the back of the grill. This allows for easy placement in a variety of spaces. The Pro 825 has two “sizzle zone” burners in the second grill area, and a two stage power burners on the side shelf.

One thing that really sets the Prestige Pro apart is its storage features. The Pro boasts soft close storage doors, built-in shelving in the cabinet, condiment racks, tool hooks, towel bars, and even a bottle opener with cap catcher.

Napoleon Prestige Pro grills have stainless steel tube burners that are lit by a "Jetfire" electronic ignition. The Pro series has stainless steel grates with a patented wave design that creates unique sear marks. To spread heat evenly, Napoleon has stainless steel sear plates. The plates also protect the burners and help reduce flare-ups.

The Prestige Pro grills are also available as built-in models, a perfect fit for any outdoor kitchen.

The warranty on the Prestige Pro series is a standout in its class, having a lifetime warranty on the exterior housing, cooking grids, and stainless steel cooking box. Napoleon also boasts a 10 year + 5 warranty on their burners and flame tamers that provides replacement parts at a 50% of normal cost for 5 years after the 10 year warranty expires.

Thing To Consider:

While this grill is built tough, and backed by a strong warranty, Napoleon Prestige Pro grills are not "all stainless steel", which is what many customers are shopping for nowadays. Along with the stainless steel components on the grill, you will also find cast aluminum and porcelain enameled steel components too, such as cart legs, back panels, etc.

Question:
I just purchased the 700 series grill big38rbpss. This comes with no propane regulator or hose and my contractor is unsure what size before trying anyone at Home Depot. Is there a specific one for this grill?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Phil. Napoleon doesn't specify any particular hose or regulator. Your plumber should be able to supply a regulator set for 11-inches water column, and all the necessary gas plumbing and fittings to make it work.

Question:
I will be installing the built-in Prestige Pro 500 onto my island and have two questions about the cutout 1) the 8 7/8 depth, is this to the underneath surface of the countertop? 2) in the cutout picture it shows a notch in the countertop (both sides) to accept (?) The grill, what are these dimensions?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Scooter. The cutout depth for the Napoleon Pro 500 is from the counter top down, although more is not really a bad idea. The notch is to let the back of the control panel fit flush to the face of the cabinet. The depth measurement is going to depend on the depth of the overhang of the counter top.

Question:
For the built-in model, what parts are not stainless steel?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Rob. The Napoleon Prestige Pro is all 304-grade stainless steel, with the exception of just a few trim pieces, which are cast aluminum.

Question:
Does the propane model come with the regulator because I just bought one and no regulator was on the box?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi, Pedro. Napoleon does not include hoses or regulators with their built-in grills. They ask that the grills be installed by a licensed gas installer.

Asked by PedroAnswered by Wesley

Question:
Where is the drip pan on the built in units
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Mike. The drip pan is located at the front of the grill below the control panel, it slides out for easy cleanup.

Question:
Just to confirm, you do not need a regulator with the natural gas model?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Moke. This gas grill is designed to operate with a gas supply pressure of 7” WC. For installations where the gas supply pressure exceeds these requirements, a regulator must be installed upstream of the grill’s components.

Asked by MokeAnswered by Ryan

Question:
Is the regulator included with this? If not, which one works with this unit?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Spiro. The regulator is not included with the built-in version of the grill. You need part # S85001, or an approved regulator that supplies a pressure of 11" WC.

Question:
How much clearance behind the grill is needed to fully open the lid?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
The roll top lid actually does not extend farther than the back of the grill when opened all of the way. This is a space saving design from Napoleon.

Question:
Hi There. I think this is the grill for me. One question: I live one block from the beach will get the built-in model. I see that it is not 100% stainless steel. Description says "Along with the stainless steel components on the grill, you will also find cast aluminum and porcelain enameled steel components too, such as cart legs, back panels, etc." What does it mean from a longevity standpoint especially being near the beach if there are aluminum and porcelain enameled components? Thanks for your help. Marco
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Marco! You are correct, anything other than stainless steel will not fair well long term by the saltwater. Also, keep in mind that not all stainless steel is created equal. Since you are so close to the beach, you will want to look for marine grade stainless steel, 316 stainless steel. Take a look at these marine-grade grills we offer: bit.ly/33oPaM1 Hope this helps. When will my item arrive?

Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we’ve all come to expect for small parcels, so it’s important that you’re prepared and understand what’s required of you well before delivery day.

  • Most freight products ship on a pallet
  • Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
  • We’ll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.

For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can’t be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we’ve only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.

For carriers that deliver without an appointment:

Carriers that deliver without an appointment don’t require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren’t required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you’re home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you’re out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
